Anna Jochymczyk shares how collaboration and personal growth beyond technical skills transformed her internship experience.
At Sabre, we are committed to embracing and celebrating our diversity. In this inclusion & engagement series, Shifting the Conversation, our people share their stories to engage in open dialog and shed light on their broad, rich and unique perspectives. Join us as we follow Anna Jochymczyk, an intern in Sabre’s Krakow, Poland office, as she shares how collaboration and personal growth beyond technical skills transformed her internship experience.
My name is Anna Jochymczyk and I’m a third-year computer science and intelligent systems student at Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland. This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to join Sabre as a Quality Assurance intern on the Shopping, Pricing & Content Taxes team.
So, what drew me to Sabre? It wasn’t just about growing my technical skills. I was looking for a workplace that felt welcoming and inspiring, where collaboration, innovation and global connection were more than just words. From my very first day as a Sabre intern, I knew I found that kind of place.
Growing up in Krakow, I’ve always valued teamwork, empathy and being open to diverse perspectives. These core values of my identity shaped how I approached my internship. I didn’t want to simply check off tasks on a checklist to feel accomplished. I wanted more – I wanted to contribute meaningfully, ask thoughtful questions and support my team in any way I could. That mindset helped me adapt quickly and feel like I was a part of something bigger.
One Sabre value that resonated with me was “be united.” I saw it in action every day in how my teammates communicated with trust and transparency, celebrated small wins and genuinely supported one another, regardless of the role or location. I did my best to reflect that same spirit by staying proactive, engaged and always ready to collaborate. There have been many moments that have defined my experience, especially the challenges that pushed me and the pride I felt in overcoming them.
To the next group of interns: don’t be afraid to bring your whole self to the table. Ask questions, connect with people outside your team and treat every meeting as an opportunity to learn something new. Unity isn’t just about being in the same room. It’s about choosing to show up each day with purpose, actively listening and building something meaningful together.
As I look ahead, my passport to success is stamped with experiences that challenged me, broadened my global perspective and helped me grow – not just as an aspiring engineer, but as a teammate. Wherever this journey takes me next, I’ll carry the value of being united with me.
Sabre is shifting the conversation with stories from curious, bold and committed team members globally. Throughout our internship program, we prioritize hands-on experience, empowering interns to develop new skillsets, pursue passions and explore out-of-the-box solutions.
